Batesville is one of the oldest settlements in Arkansas, and was a major shipping point along the White River years before Arkansas became a state. The first settlement by white men was made in 1810 at the mouth of Poke Bayou. This strategic location in the southeastern section of the Ozarks along the White River made it the “port of entry” for those traveling further upstream, thus Batesville played an important part in the development and history of the whole Ozark region. Today Batesville has a population of approximately 9,000, and is known as one of the fastest growing areas in Arkansas.

Magnet school themes are added to an already strong program, giving your child an opportunity to build on their foundation of reading, writing and math. For health care, the White River Medical Center provides over 50 hospital services and specialties with modern technology to a seven-county service area.
